Foundry and school have the unique opportunity to keep the "golden hands" in the region

Martin Kiss, head of education department for the Pardubice region, visited Kovolis on the 20th of October and was interested in cooperation between the company and the Secondary vocational and technical apprentice schools in Třemošnice. He was accompanied by the headmistress of the school, Jana Sýkorová.

The valley in Hedvikov, at the edge of Třemošnice, is located in an area attractive for tourists, the National park Lichnice – Kaňka’s Mountains. The environment is breathtaking. Customers of the company are multiplying year by year. This also has its effect on the number of employees.

Rheocasting is the foundry’s hit

In the foundry Kovolis Hedvikov, an innovative technology called rheocasting has been in operation since the year 2013. We are proficient with it and equipped for its use as the only company in the Czech Republic and one of five companies in Europe. It is a technology method of alloy casting in semi-solid state. Through its use, it is possible to substantially increase values of mechanical properties and to ensure an excellent pressure tightness while maintaining the robustness of the process. Rheocasting works in advantage for requirements for higher firmness and ductility. The alloys comply with requirements of the automobile industry mainly thanks to weight reduction of the product, increase in its utility properties and cost reduction. The industry superimposes high requirements on the smelting process and even on the casting process itself.

75% of employees have achieved significantly better results in the benchmark test in which they were checking their knowledge gained during a year-long project “Educate yourselves for growth in the Pardubice region II”, that was financed by resources from the European Union. Since September 2014, 97 employees of the foundry, the deburring hall and the machining department of Kovolis in Hedvikov and Ronov nad Doubravou have actively participated in this project.
